Channel Swizzle
Channel Swizzle
Use Channel Swizzle to reorder, duplicate, clear, or fill channels without splitting and recombining a texture. Each output channel independently selects R, G, B, A, 0, or 1.

Common uses
- Use identity mapping for a pass-through RGBA texture.
- Map constants to alpha when an explicitly opaque or transparent output is needed.
Input ports
-
input -
Accepts one grayscale, RGB, or RGBA texture.
Output ports
-
out -
Outputs RGBA at the inherited resolution and bit depth.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Default | Range or values |
|---|---|---|---|
| Output R | enum | r | r, g, b, a, zero, one |
| Output G | enum | g | r, g, b, a, zero, one |
| Output B | enum | b | r, g, b, a, zero, one |
| Output A | enum | a | r, g, b, a, zero, one |
Behavior
- The output is always RGBA.
- Missing or invalid mappings normalize to identity defaults.
Common mistakes
- Channel Swizzle copies channels directly; it does not calculate luminance or weighted channel mixes.
- RGB and grayscale inputs without alpha are treated as fully opaque.
