Flood Fill to Grayscale/Color
Flood Fill to Grayscale/Color
Use Flood Fill to Grayscale/Color with Flood Fill’s Info output and a grayscale or color map. It samples the base map at each region’s bounds center, fills that region with the sampled value, then applies independent stable luminance and hue adjustment/variation.
Availability
This node requires Pro.
Common uses
- Connect Flood Fill’s Info output to Flood Fill Info and a base grayscale or color map to Grayscale/Color Input.
- Luminance changes brightness; Color controls rotate hue. All four controls default to zero, so regions retain their sampled input-map values by default.
Input ports
-
floodFill -
input -
Flood Fill Info expects the Info output from Flood Fill.
-
Grayscale/Color Input supplies the per-region base tones.
Output ports
-
out -
Outputs one grayscale or color swatch per flood-filled region.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Default | Range or values |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luminance Adjustment | float | 0 | -1 to 1 |
| Luminance Random | float | 0 | -1 to 1 |
| Color Adjustment | float | 0 | -1 to 1 |
| Color Random | float | 0 | -1 to 1 |
Behavior
- Every connected flood-filled region receives a uniform result.
- Output format follows the Grayscale/Color Input so grayscale maps remain grayscale and color maps retain color.
Common mistakes
- The Flood Fill Info input is required; the node cannot derive regions from a plain mask.
- Very large positive or negative luminance values can clamp colors to black or white.
