Checker
Checker
Use Checker to generate high-contrast repeating blocks for mask testing, UV validation, or tiling previews. It is often combined with warp or threshold nodes to build stylized panel patterns.
Availability
This node is available in the free feature set.
Common uses
- Start graphs with one or more generator nodes, then route them into filters or mixing nodes.
- Combine with Levels, Curves, or Blend to shape the final look quickly.
Input ports
-
None
-
Usually no required image input; parameters define the output pattern.
Output ports
-
out -
Primary output is an image signal used by downstream nodes.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Default | Range or values |
|---|---|---|---|
| Squares | int | 8 | 1 to 128 |
Behavior
- Generator nodes define the initial signal that propagates through the graph.
- Most generator outputs can be treated as grayscale unless the node is color-focused.
Common mistakes
- Large or high-contrast sources can amplify artifacts in downstream blur or warp chains.
- Keep source scale consistent before combining multiple generators.
