Polygon
Polygon
Use Polygon to produce clean geometric masks with adjustable side count and edge shape. It works well as a base for decals, icons, and hard-surface cutout workflows.

Common uses
- Start graphs with one or more generator nodes, then route them into filters or mixing nodes.
- Combine with Levels, Curves, or Blend to shape the final look quickly.
Input ports
-
None
-
Usually no required image input; parameters define the output pattern.
Output ports
-
out -
Primary output is an image signal used by downstream nodes.

| Explode | float | 0 | 0 to 1 |
| Triangle Size | float | 1 | 0 to 1 |
| Scale | float | 0.8 | 0 to 2 |

Behavior
- Generator nodes define the initial signal that propagates through the graph.
- Most generator outputs can be treated as grayscale unless the node is color-focused.
Common mistakes
- Large or high-contrast sources can amplify artifacts in downstream blur or warp chains.
- Keep source scale consistent before combining multiple generators.
