Directional Warp
Directional Warp
Use Directional Warp to displace content along a controlled vector direction map. It is useful for flow-like deformation and directional wear patterns.

Common uses
- Apply distortions after establishing a stable base pattern.
- Use mild distortion early and stronger effects near the end for control.
Input ports
-
input -
warpMap -
Typically expects an image input plus optional control inputs.
Output ports
-
out -
Outputs transformed image data in the same graph branch.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Default | Range or values |
|---|---|---|---|
| Intensity | float | 0.1 | 0 to 1 |
| Angle | float | 0 | 0 to 360 |
| Non-Square Expansion | bool | true | - |
Behavior
- Distortion nodes remap sampling coordinates rather than direct color values.
- Input continuity strongly influences final distortion quality.
Common mistakes
- Aggressive warps can stretch artifacts and expose seams.
- Coordinate-heavy chains can become hard to debug without checkpoints.
