FXAA
FXAA
FXAA applies a Fast Approximate Anti-Aliasing pass that detects local contrast edges and blends across them. It is particularly useful after Shape or Disc-like generators when their silhouettes look pixelated.
Availability
This node requires Pro.
Common uses
- Place FXAA near the end of a graph after the shapes or masks whose edges need smoothing.
- Use it as a lightweight one-node finishing pass for aliasing rather than a general blur.
Input ports
-
input -
Requires one Color or Grayscale image input.
Output ports
-
out -
Outputs a Color or Grayscale image matching the input format.
Parameters
This node has no shared processing parameters.
Behavior
- The effect has no authored parameters and preserves the input channel format.
- Tiling controls whether edge samples wrap across texture boundaries.
Common mistakes
- FXAA can soften intentional one-pixel detail and sharp mask boundaries.
- It works from contrast, so low-contrast edges may receive little or no smoothing.
